In line with journalistic ethics, user privacy rights, and the Digital Personal Data Protection (DPPA) Act, 2023, our fact-checking process follows strict guidelines on handling personal identifiable information (PII) to prevent harassment, doxxing, or misuse.
All personal data (names, phone numbers, IDs, bank details, emails, addresses, etc.) must be redacted or blurred in published fact-checks unless It is critical to verifying a claim (e.g., a fake certificate with a visible ID as proof) or the individual has explicitly consented to its disclosure (e.g., public figures sharing info voluntarily).
Exceptions require approval from the editorial team and legal review.
